Rantglass - because that's how things are.

Finish it.

The extreme intricacies of this one movie is tiring my brain out.

Izzi: Every shadow, no matter how deep, is threatened by morning light.

The movie clocked in at ninety minutes or so, and, well… thankfully at that, too. It left me with questions that I think not to ask, and came with answers that I seek not.

So unique and profound that, in the end, it is difficult to make something definite out of it.

It has spoiled my Sunday somewhat – I intended my weekends to be chore-free and mindlessly fun, but today… today, I felt like I have just participated in some sort of a cosmic marathon – having been shot out into space, flown round the universe and then back again – within 24 hours.

I truly cannot think of a movie that last left me as stumped and bewildered as this one.

Damn. This has been too much of a mindfuck. As you may well know, I am certainly not a sponge.

(explodes)

I shall have to compensate by watching some romantic comedies tomorrow.

  3. Chii – Hmm, then again it might keep you awake pondering about the movie! :D Anyway, the movie is “The Fountain”, which starred Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. I don’t think it was ever released here in the cinemas…

Spoonfork – Yep, gonna keep looking out for some Arofnosky movies… :D

  4. i think it might’ve been released here actually. but of course, ran for too short a time to be noticed.
anyway, this would probably rank as one of aronofsky’s failed allegories. spoonfork is right, pi remains one of the most intriguing pieces of filmmaking, like, ever.
rrequiem for a dream though, will probably be less of a mindfuck, as you put it.

  5. Soporific – I think I’ve written about wanting to watch “The Fountain”, “The Illusionist” and “The Prestige” some time ago as there was a sort of a connection among those three movies (turns out I only managed to watch “The Prestige”).

    Strizzt | 10/02/08 11:53 AM

  6. forget those, just go straight for pi or requiem.

    soporific | 13/02/08 07:22 PM
