This may well be an obligatory yet useless observation, but there is no doubt at all in my mind that a new year has indeed arrived. It has been an outright 180-degree turn right from the very start – from the moans and groans of getting stuck and unstuck in knee-deep waters in a wet and battered city last December, to the now daily battle and nettle of rush-hour traffic jams under the blazing hot sun.
But now, there are only three words that dearly matter: clear blue skies. So immensely clean and especially in such a wonderful hue, you could carve a sizable piece off it and happily decorate your room with it. Sans clouds, it makes for a view so delicate that even none of the best colour machines on earth can replicate.
And of that I am sure many will approve. There is plenty of it to go around, anyway.
