Out of sync.
There was an air of finality: the anthemic, soaring notes to the last song played at the end of a rock band’s tour in a long while; the triumphant finish and placing of the three remaining teams that raced through all four corners of the earth in a bid to win a cool million bucks; the joyous celebration and bittersweet revelation upon hitting the big thirty; and the deafening silence and sudden sadness that enveloped following the not-so-proverbial nail in the coffin.
